Welcome

Shayamanzi

Life on Shayamanzi game farm and its passionate leopard project can now be seen on the internet, worldwide. Shayamanzi is a privately owned game farm in the Waterberg. What you read, hear and see is a product of my own, Jannie Parsons modest opinion and limited knowledge.

Each point tells a separate story but is also a very important component of everything.

In action

These are detached events behind the scenes. The focus is mainly on the content and not necessarily a highly edited production.

Leopard mystery

A diary about our leopards……Read, listen and have a look at our content.

Leopard characters

The information about our leopard characters which we have gathered, and are still busy with will eventually be placed on our website. Although leopards have different characters and behavioral patterns and react differently, there are a lot of similarities between the two.

Shayamanzi game farm

Site names on a game farm are necessary for communication and orientation. The different sites all form a big network from where the content for our diary and photography of the wildlife and leopards are being used.

Live Stream

Through this our user will be able to see and experience live stream of various cameras.

Pre recorded

By viewing pre recorded clips, reading the diary comments, having a good look at exactly what time of day or season it is, will increase the expectation of what it would be like if the viewer was watching live stream.

Highlights

Our ideal is to place a Highlight on the website daily. It might be a photo, video, sound, sketch or a written line or two about a moment that was captured in the bush.

Research

Research and science are the backbone of the Shayamanzi leopard project. The top expert of leopards (especially the Kalahari – leopard), a world renowned scientist with more than 18 published books and more than 100 published scientific opinions, the editor for the most famous book in the game industry “Wildsplaasbestuur” (fifth edition – Nov 2009), co-writer with Clive Walker of: “The Soul of the Waterberg” and “Larger Carnivores of the African Savannas” is Prof. J. Du P. (Koos) Bothma. His scientific interpretations and observations of some of the videos and photos as well as articles and his new book “Silk and Sand” will be published here.

Awareness

Cameras will give you a visual overview of the predators and cameras are probably the most important technological instrument to assist with the awareness of leopards.

Your sustained contribution and visit to the website is a compliment to the product we are creating. May the product add value to each member’s life.
